Kucinich says Bush should be held accountable for Iraq
Kucinich’s Afghanistan resolution attracted 93 House supporters Thursday afternoon, including eight Republicans. He spoke immediately after the vote to mark March 20, which is the eighth anniversary of the start of the U.S. war against Iraq.
Kucinich criticized former Vice President Dick Cheney in particular for expressing the certainty that Iraq had or was developing biological, chemical and nuclear weapons.
“The picture that was painted to the American people, before the Congress at that time, was that we had no choice but to get ready to attack Iraq,” he said. “And yet, we knew back then that there was no credible evidence that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction.”
