Wasserman Schultz called the GOP language a “little stunt,” and agreed with other Democrats that it poses a risk of a government shutdown because Senate Democrats are expected to oppose it.
She spoke just before the House was expected to pass the language and send it back to the Senate. Senate Democrats have said they would quickly strip the language on Monday, leaving the House and Senate in a stalemate over a short-term spending bill for 2014.
