Republicans, however, have used the weak economy and lingering unemployment rates as a central talking point in the lead up to the 2012 elections.
Clyburn added in the interview that President Obama could eventually become a “great president.”
“All presidents have a learning curve,” he said. “Obama is a good president; he has the potential to be a great president.”
