Rep. Moran slams Romney as campaign visits Virginia
“Romney and [Virginia GOP Senate 2012 candidate George] Allen are pitching this extreme slash-and-burn plan on the campaign trail without any mention of the real world impact it would have on Virginia families,” wrote Moran in an op-ed published in the Rosehill Patch. “The truth is, Romney and Allen’s reckless ‘All Cuts, No Balance’ plan would have terrible consequences for Virginia’s economy.
Allen went on to call the Republicans’ plan, which was already rejected in the Senate, and temporarily abandoned by the House, “extreme” and said it would hurt seniors the most.
“Mitt Romney and George Allen should be honest with voters and tell them exactly how their plan would balance the budget,” wrote Allen. “Their ‘all cuts’ approach will reduce benefits for seniors.”
Romney on Wednesday made several campaign stops in Northern Virginia before heading to the Capitol to try to whip up congressional endorsements from GOP members of the House.
