Indiana House GOP slam Senate for payroll tax deal
Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.) specifically criticized Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.), who is up for reelection next year, for accepting the two-month compromise. Both Lugar and Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) voted for the deal worked out by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
“Where you can blame us is because we don’t know our negotiating partners very well,” Rokita said. “We don’t know that they won’t stand for us. And I’m not talking about Harry Reid. I’m talking about Senate Republicans.”
