Obama signs intelligence, pipeline safety bills into law

Also on Tuesday, Obama signed into law H.R. 1801, which requires the Department of Homeland Security to develop rules allowing for expedited airport security screening for members of the U.S. Armed Forces. This popular bill was approved unanimously in the House in late November, and by a voice vote in the Senate in December.

Also signed into law were H.R. 2056, which requires the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to study the impact of failed insured depository institutions, and H.R. 1059, which extends for six years the ability of the government to redact some information in the financial disclosure forms of judges.

H.R. 515, the Belarus Democracy and Human Rights Act of 2011, was also signed by Obama, in addition to three bills naming two post offices and one courthouse: H.R. 789, H.R. 2422 and H.R. 1264.
