DHS secretary to testify before House panel next week

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson will testify before the House Judiciary Committee next Thursday.

Johnson’s testimony will be the most prominent hearing on Capitol Hill next week as the House is only in session Wednesday evening through midday Friday, and the Senate will be out on its weeklong Memorial Day recess.

{mosads}Expect lawmakers to ask Johnson about the administration’s immigration policy. Democrats have warned that President Obama will turn to executive action if Congress does not pass an immigration overhaul.

Meanwhile, Republicans have long argued that they do not trust Obama to implement the law.
