Wednesday: House to pass line-item veto
Under the bill, the president could recommend budget rescissions that Congress could consider on an expedited basis.
The House has already approved three other budget reform bills, but with the support of fewer than 10 House Democrats each time.
Also in the House today, members are expected to vote on a Democratic motion to instruct conferees to H.R. 3630, the payroll tax holiday extension bill, by mid-February. The House has already approved a similar motion.
The Senate is out Wednesday to accommodate a Democratic senatorial retreat.
