Bill creating veterans’ housing advocate passes House

Sponsor Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) has said the bill is needed to reduce incidents of homeless veterans, and noted that thousands of veterans are homeless across the country. The VA, however, has also noted that the homelessness situation among vets has been improving.

Members approved the Homes for Heroes Act, H.R. 3298, by a 414-5 vote. All “no” votes came from Republicans.
