Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) bid Congress farewell Thursday night on the last day of the House session for the year.
Kingston was unsuccessful in his Senate bid this year and will not be returning to serve in the House next year.

Fresh off casting his very last vote, Kingston noted that it was the end of a chapter.
“I’ve often wondered what it would be like to cast my last vote. Today I’ve done that. And I wonder no longer. In a minute I will walk off the floor for the last time as a member of Congress,” Kingston said.
Kingston expressed optimism for his life after Congress.
“I look forward to the next chapter in my life and the great things that lie ahead for our beloved country,” Kingston said. “It truly has been an honor of a lifetime.”
