House approves Iran resolution, flood insurance extension
Earlier in the day, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) said the resolution might alter U.S. negotiations with Iran later this month, and would make it harder for the United States to achieve a diplomatic solution.
{mosads}And in a 402-18 vote, the House approved H.R. 5740, which would extend the federal flood insurance program for another 30 days. The House is hoping this extension would give the Senate more time to pass its own flood insurance bill.
The Senate is working on some way to move ahead with a bill before the National Flood Insurance Program expires at the end of May. The House has already passed a bipartisan bill extending the program for five years.
