The 113th Congress officially ended on Friday, less than a week before the new Congress convenes.
In a brief pro forma session lasting less than 10 minutes, the House approved a resolution ending the 113th Congress sine die. To adjourn sine die means that a Congress will have no further meetings.

The 114th Congress will convene at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
