House convenes for pro forma session
The House convened Friday morning for a brief pro forma session where no legislative business was conducted.
The session, presided over by Rep. Luke Messer (R-Ind.), lasted for approximately three minutes. After the House chaplain, the Rev. Patrick Conroy, delivered an opening prayer and the House completed a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, the chamber adjourned.
{mosads}The House will not return until noon on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Meanwhile, the Senate will reconvene at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23. Funding for the Department of Homeland Security expires on Friday, Feb. 27, leaving Congress little time to act before a potential shutdown.
