House observes moment of silence for victims of helicopter crash

The House observed a moment of silence Tuesday afternoon for victims of a National Guard helicopter crash off the coast of Florida last week.

Members of the Louisiana delegation led the moment of silence during the final House vote series of the day.

{mosads}”I rise with a heavy heart to commemorate the loss of eleven outstanding servicemen, including four members of the Louisiana National Guard, as the result of a helicopter training accident off the coast of Florida,” said Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.).

Four Louisiana National Guard members and seven members of a Marines special operations force were on the helicopter when it crashed in the Santa Rosa Sound along the Florida Panhandle on March 10.
