House passes resolution honoring life of Beau Biden
The House passed a resolution by unanimous consent on Thursday to honor the life of Vice President Biden’s son, Beau, who died last week.
“Beau was one of the best of the good guys,” said Rep. John Carney (D-Del.). “As we say goodbye to this distinguished American, this genuinely good man, we say to him, until we meet again, Beau, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
Beau Biden died of brain cancer on Saturday at the age of 46. He had served as Delaware’s attorney general until earlier this year and served in the Delaware Army National Guard.
{mosads}The vice president’s son had also been viewed as a potential candidate for Delaware governor in 2016.
Joe Biden’s first wife, Neilia, who was Beau Biden’s mother, and daughter Naomi, died in a 1972 car crash.
Beau Biden will lie in honor at the Delaware Senate Chamber of Legislative Hall on Thursday. President Obama will deliver a eulogy at Biden’s funeral in Wilmington, Del., on Saturday.
