House conducts moment of silence for Brussels victims
The House briefly paused its floor proceedings on Tuesday to conduct a moment of silence for the victims of the terror attack in Brussels.
“The chair asks that the House now observe a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks in Brussels,” Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said as he presided over a series of floor votes on noncontroversial bills to commemorate Women’s History Month.
{mosads}At least 34 people were killed when bombs exploded at the Zaventem airport and a subway stop close to the European Commission’s headquarters in Brussels on Tuesday.
Dozens more were injured in the attacks, for which the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has claimed credit.
