House committees go bargain shopping next week
The same day, the House Oversight and Government Reform will hold a hearing to ask if the government is using its power to suspend and debar government contractors enough in the name of protecting taxpayer funds.
{mosads}On Thursday, the House Ways and Means Committee will examine tax havens, tax base erosion and profit shifting, part of a series of meetings on possible tax reform.
And speaking of spending money, the House Budget Committee will gather Wednesday to hear about the Defense Department’s 2014 budget request. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will testify there, and also in a Senate hearing the same day on the same topic.
