Monday: Vietnam, land bills and judges
The five other bills all deal with land use:
— H.R. 876, the Idaho Wilderness Water Resources Protection Act, authorizing the ongoing use of a water storage facility in Utah.
{mosads}— H.R. 253, the Y Mountain Access Enhancement Act, conveying a parcel of land to Brigham Young University.
— H.R. 520, the Buffalo Soldiers in the National Parks Study Act, requiring for a study on how to commemorate the Buffalo Soldiers.
— H.R. 674, the Rota Cultural and Natural Resources Study Act, requiring a study on additions to the National Park System.
— H.R. 862, authorizing a land transfer to the Coconino National Forest.
The Senate starts at 2 p.m., and at 5 p.m. it will debate two nominations. One is Luis Restrepo to be a U.S. district judge for Pennsylvania, and the other is Ken Gonzales to be a U.S. district judge for New Mexico.
Throughout the day, the Senate will continue to debate S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act. Votes on amendments are expected throughout the week.
