Friday: Finishing up offshore energy in the House
On Thursday, the House considered several amendments to the bill, including one that would double the oil revenue sharing cap for the four Gulf states. A few more amendments are up today, and the House is expected to pass the bill before noon.
{mosads}The Senate is already out after passing a bipartisan immigration bill in a 68-32 vote. House GOP leaders have said the will not consider the bill, and instead will push ahead with their own border enforcement legislation.
The Senate and House leave town this week after failing to pass a unified bill that will stop federally subsidized student loan interest rates from doubling on July 1. The House passed a proposal to peg the interest rate to the 10-year Treasury note, but the Senate was never able to pass its own version.
