Bill would strip pensions from lawmakers who become ‘millionaire lobbyists’
{mosads}The Revolving Door Pension Prevention Act, H.R. 2594, would stop former members of Congress from receiving a federal pension — funded by taxpayer — if they are a lobbyist making $1 million a year or more.
“My legislation will make sure that taxpayer funds are spent effectively on job-creating priorities and not supporting millionaires,” Israel said.
Israel, who is working to recapture the House majority as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, introduced the legislation before Congress left Washington for a week-long recess.
