House votes to streamline small airplane certification rules
The House also passed H.R. 2576, which would amend U.S. law dealing with protecting intellectual property rights for standards-setting groups relating to pipeline safety. Current law holds that the Transportation Department cannot issue guidance or regulations that incorporate portions of documents unless they are made available to the public on an Internet website.
{mosads}But some standards-creating groups have said this requirement infringes on their IP rights, and the bill eliminates the requirement that these documents must be published online. Members passed the bill 405-2.
Finally, the House passed H.R. 2611, naming the Coast Guard headquarters in Washington DC the “Douglas A. Munro Coast Guard Headquarters Building.” This bill passed 411-0.
