House plans hearings on economy, Egypt, regulations and trade next week

The House returns next week and will hold several key hearings related to many of the issues currently occupying the Congress. The House Budget Committee will hold a hearing on the state of the U.S. economy with Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, and will hold another hearing on the Congressional Budget Office’s economic outlook.

The Foreign Affairs Committee will hold a two-day hearing on the turmoil in Egypt and its implications for U.S. policy.

In another hearing, the Rules Committee will hold a hearing and markup of a resolution that would instruct House committees to identify regulations that are hurting job growth. Also of note is a Ways & Means hearing on trade, featuring U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.
