Celebrities sighted at the Democratic convention

Speaking on stage last night was actor Kal Penn, who served as President Obama’s associate director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. Penn took a dig at the now infamous celebrity speech from the GOP convention last week, by actor Clint Eastwood where he rambled at an empty chair meant to represent the president.

{mosads}”My favorite job was having a boss who gave the order to take out bin Laden, and who’s cool with all of us getting gay-married,” Penn said Tuesday night. “So thank you, invisible man in the chair for that … and for giving my friends access to affordable health insurance and doubling funding for the Pell grants.”

Starting off the evening full of celebrity sightings was singer and actress Amber Riley from the hit TV show “Glee.” She sang the national anthem in Charlotte on Tuesday.
