Monday: Procedural vote on gay rights bill
The Senate meets at 2 p.m., and in the late afternoon it will hold a procedural vote on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).
On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed a cloture motion on the bill, S. 815. As a result, senators will vote in the early evening to end debate on a motion to proceed to the bill.
{mosads}If 60 senators agree, that might allow the Senate to immediately pass the actual motion to proceed to the bill, and allow the Senate to work on the bill all week.
Just before the procedural vote, senators will vote on two judicial nominations. Greg Woods, nominated to be a U.S. district judge for the Southern District of New York, and Debra Brown, nominated to be a U.S. district judge for the Northern District of Mississippi, will get votes starting at 5:30 p.m.
The House is out all week.
