House plans Tuesday return

The House plans to return to work Tuesday, after a Monday morning snowstorm closed down both Congress and the Executive Branch for a day.

House GOP leaders announced late Monday afternoon that members would start legislative work at 2 p.m. Members are expected to work on up to eight suspension bills that were originally supposed to be covered over a two-day period.

{mosads}Legislation up on Tuesday includes one bill that would boost the U.S.-Israel strategic partnership.

Also up are two energy bills, including one that would allow truck drivers to drive for longer hours to deliver home heating fuels.

Members will also consider legislation that would repeal key elements of the 2012 flood insurance reforms.

The Senate will also be in Tuesday, but only for a quick session and no votes. Senate Democrats pushed back a series of votes on judicial nominations until Wednesday because of the storm.
