House begins planning schedule for next week

The bill, H.R. 5544, finds that Minnesota owns several parcels of land that is considered wilderness area, and that state ownership of this land makes land management costly and difficult for the state. For this reason, it finds that it would make sense for a land swap with the federal government.

House and Senate leaders reached an agreement to pass a six-month CR sometime in September.

The Senate still appears to be preparing for work on S. 3457, the Veterans Job Corps Act, which would create a $1 billion training program for veterans over the next five years.
