Thursday: Drought relief, No Child Left Behind fix
The Senate will continue its work on an overhaul of the Bush-era No Child Left Behind law.
The Senate ended debate on a substitute amendment to the Every Child Achieves Act on Wednesday, the first procedural hurdle for the bill.
{mosads}Senators will take at least six more votes on amendments to the legislation around 10:45 a.m.
Meanwhile, the House will take up legislation to alleviate the impact of a drought in California.
The drought relief would increase the amount of water available to Californians by making changes to how the federal government releases water through the Central Valley Project.
Votes in the House are expected between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
