Kucinich confirms he’s weighing election bid in different state
The member-against-member matchup has sparked speculation Kucinich would move.
Washington state has been named a possible new home for eight-term lawmaker — he held a fundraiser there late last week, detailing his redistricting woes for the crowd.
Washington is getting a new congressional seat, and it’s likely to be centered in an area close to where Kucinich held his fundraiser.
But Democrats there may not welcome the liberal congressman’s presence.
Washington state Democratic Party Chairman Dwight Pelz called the Kucinich rumor “far-fetched” and said he didn’t think Democrats would welcome it.
“I think it’s a fantasy,” Pelz told The Ballot Box on Tuesday. “I just don’t think voters are interested in seeing something like that happen.”
