Senate may hold vote on debit card ‘swipe fee’ legislation this week

A preliminary study from the Fed indicated the price would be capped at 12 cents per transaction, down from the current average of 40 cents.
Since the Senate is likely to take up the Economic Development Administration (EDA) funding bill this week, it is likely that the swipe fee legislation could appear as amendment to that bill.
