Reid also touted the government’s accomplishments in prosecuting a war against those responsible for the attacks and for its success in securing the nation since then.
“Rather than be crippled by the terrible attacks of these madmen… this nation rose again stronger than ever,” said Reid.
The Senate will recess just before 6 p.m. on Monday night to attend a memorial service on the steps of the Capitol.
