Schumer arranges for battleship built with WTC steel to serve as backdrop for 9/11 commemoration

The amphibious assault ship is capable of hauling helicopters, hovercraft and amphibious assault vehicles, along with more than 1,000 military personnel.

The ships motto is “Never Forget.”

According to the Post, Schumer wrote a letter to Secretary of Navy Ray Mabus in July requesting the ship’s participation into the commemoration.
