Woodal nomination to financial oversight body clears the Senate
According to the Treasury Department’s website, the council is “charged with identifying threats to the financial stability of the United States; promoting market discipline; and responding to emerging risks to the stability of the United States financial system.”
Among several other executive nominees confirmed by the Senate before it adjourned for the week on Monday night were Mark Acton and Robert Taub, to serve as commissioners on the the Postal Regulatory Commission, an independent agency charged with regulatory oversight over the Postal Service.
