Reid offers McConnell vote on Obama jobs bill
McConnell had demanded an immediate vote on the legislation on Tuesday, ostensibly to heed Obama’s call for an immediate vote. Reid however blocked his request, insisting the Senate ought to conisder it through regular order.
So far there is no word on whether or not an agreement has actually been reached or when the vote might take place.
Republicans and some moderate and conservative Democrats oppose the $447 billion spending measure, in part, because it is paid for by raising taxes on those who earn over $1 million a year. It is expected to fail the Senate by a wide margin.
