Protesters ‘occupy’ supercommittee member’s office over lack of jobs
One protester, Jessica Walls-Lavelle, said the small demonstration, which is a part of larger American Dream Movement, was inspired by the Occupy Wall Street effort in big cities across the nation.
“We’re very inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement,” Walls-Lavelle said, according to the Patch. “We wanted to take [our message] straight to the politicians who are representing the 1 percent instead of the 99 percent of us who are the rest of the country.”
The Patch reported that motorists on a nearby road sometimes honked in support of protesters who were waving job-related signs and placards.
One other sign read, “Occupy Sen. Toomey’s office.”
