The Senate is expected to clear the nomination of Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) to serve as U.S. ambassador to China this week.
The vote is expected earlier Thursday afternoon with up to one hour of debate.
{mosads}Earlier Tuesday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved Baucus’ nomination by unanimous voice-vote.
Baucus, who currently serves as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, is expected to use his knowledge on trade while in his new position.
