Senate confirms US ambassador to Belize
The Senate confirmed Carlos Moreno to be U.S. ambassador to Belize by voice vote Wednesday.
Roy Williams was also confirmed by voice vote to be assistant secretary of Commerce and economic development.
Before Moreno and Williams were confirmed, the Senate also voted to end debate on three of President Obama’s nominees to serve as U.S. district judges in Arizona.
The Senate voted 58-37 to end debate on Steven Logan, 62-35 to end debate on John Tuchi and cloture was invoked on the nomination of Diane Humetewa on a 64-34 vote.
All three are expected to be confirmed later Wednesday around 5:30 p.m.
