Sen. Stabenow: Hoekstra ‘should be embarrassed’ over Super Bowl ad

{mosads}MLive reports Stabenow would not say any more about the ad, saying she did not “want to make it any more divisive than his ad has already been.”

Hoekstra, who is running for the Senate seat currently occupied by Stabenow, ran an ad during the Super Bowl in which an actress playing a young Chinese woman thanked Stabenow in broken English for shipping jobs oversees. The actress has since apologized for her participation.

In contrast, Stabenow told MLive.com that she did enjoy the Clint Eastwood ad that featured the resurgence of the Detroit auto industry.

“I loved Clint Eastwood’s ad,” she said. “It was right where we ought to be talking about hope for the future. It’s halftime. The first half was pretty bruising for us, the second half we’re going to come roaring in now.”
