The House meets at 9 a.m. and will consider a resolution, H.Res. 562, asking the Office of the Historian to compile oral histories from members involved in the historic march from Selma to Montgomery, Ala. An hour of debate is slated for this resolution, followed by a vote.
{mosads}The House will also vote on two suspension bills. One is a resolution, H.Res. 556, condemning Iran for holding a Christian pastor captive.
The other bill, S. 1134, would deem the construction of a bridge between Minnesota and Wisconsin, over the St. Croix River, to be in compliance with environmental laws.
Both of these suspension bills were debated Wednesday night, when several Democrats said they oppose S. 1134, raising the question of whether the bill can reach the required two-thirds majority vote needed for passage.
