Booker calls on Heller to shave his head
Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) said Thursday that he wished he and his Republican colleague Sen. Dean Heller (Nev.) had matching haircuts.
In a speech on the Senate floor, Booker praised the success of their bipartisan effort to extend an assisted living program for veterans with traumatic brain injuries.
{mosads}“I only wish he had shaved his head as I have,” Booker said to Heller. “That would have shown true bipartisan camaraderie.”
Booker sports a shaved head, while Heller has a full head of hair. Heller only acknowledged the comment with a chuckle.
Their legislative language was included in a bill designed to overhaul the Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system.
The House passed that bipartisan conference report on Wednesday, and the Senate is expected to act later Thursday.
