Reid compares Hamas to ISIS
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) blasted Hamas, saying it is just as “evil” as the terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
“Both are evil, corrupt and vicious groups,” Reid said on the Senate floor Thursday. “Yet for some reason Hamas’s brutality doesn’t elicit the same horror from the international community.

Reid said he would continue to condemn Hamas and fight for Israel’s right to defend itself. Hamas fighters have been launching rocket attacks against Israel. Before the August recess Congress authorized funding for Israel’s Iron Dome defense system to intercept the rockets.
Hamas is part of the Palestinian Authority government.
Reid comments came after President Obama addressed the nation Wednesday to outline his strategy in combating ISIS, which has taken control of swaths of land in the region and beheaded two U.S. journalists.
