Rubio lays out legislative agenda
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) laid out his legislative goals for the next two years while Republicans control the Senate.
“I look forward to working in a Senate Republican majority to advance the reform agenda I’ve presented this year to promote job creation and higher education, help people save for retirement, improve our anti-poverty programs, and rebuild and modernize our military to meet the challenges we’ll face throughout this century,” Rubio said Wednesday.
{mosads}On Tuesday night, Republicans flipped more than the six seats needed to become the majority party in the Senate. Republicans said the midterm election results repudiated President Obama’s policies.
Rubio is considered a potential GOP presidential candidate in 2016.
He said he hoped Obama would listen to the “message” from voters and work with the Republican Congress.
