McCaskill asks for veterans’ feedback on medical care
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) urged veterans to participate in “secret shopper” surveys to ensure quality customer service at veterans’ medical facilities.
“The best way to find out if veterans are getting quality customer service has always been to hear from them directly,” McCaskill said Monday. “These surveys help give us a real snapshot of the quality of service Missouri veterans are receiving and provide an opportunity to offer meaningful, confidential feedback to us and to the VA on how those services can be improved.”
{mosads}McCaskill’s comments came as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) rolled out a large reorganization designed to improve VA services and reduce long wait times for care.
The new focus on improved customer service comes after a massive VA scandal where thousands of veterans waited months for healthcare and some officials tried to cover up the long wait times.
Earlier this year, Congress passed legislation in an attempt to help the new VA Secretary Robert McDonald reduce wait times and hold those responsible for the cover up accountable.
