Wyden continues tradition of visiting all counties

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) vowed to once again visit every county in Oregon by the end of 2015.

{mosads}His office announced Monday that the senator would kick off the new year by holding seven town-hall meetings before the 114th Congress gavels in.

“Even with all the great new ways of communicating with Oregonians on social media, I look forward every year to my traditional way of talking with people in all 36 counties — face-to-face in town halls,” Wyden said. “Those conversations are essential every year and these seven town halls will allow me to talk with folks about my agenda for the year ahead and to hear what’s on their minds.”

Wyden said that in 1996 he pledged to hold a town-hall event every year in each of Oregon’s counties. He said this is the 20th year he will continue that tradition.
