Senate convenes for pro forma session
The Senate on Friday morning convened a brief pro forma session where no legislative business was conducted.
The session, which lasted approximately 30 seconds, was presided over by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), the president pro tempore of the Senate.
{mosads}Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced Wednesday that the Senate would cut its work week short ahead of a snowstorm on Thursday.
The Senate will reconvene at 2 p.m. on Monday, with votes expected around 5:30 p.m. The House is not scheduled to be in session next week.
