Senate confirms NJ district judge
“Judge Shipp has dedicated his career to our justice system and his life to public service,” Lautenberg said. “I have no doubt that he’ll continue his excellence in the U.S. district court.”
{mosads}Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) said Shipp would be the first African American magistrate for that district.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) was the single vote in opposition to the nomination.
