Wednesday: Trafficking, cyber
Senators are poised to pass a long-stalled bill to curb human trafficking Wednesday.
The Senate is excepted to convene at 9:30 a.m. for leader remarks. Votes on an amendment from Sen. Pat Leahy (D-Vt.), as well as an amendment from Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.) are expected around 10:45 a.m.
{mosads}Then, senators are expected to take roll call votes on six amendments around 2 p.m., followed by a voice vote on approximately a dozen amendments.
Once senators work through the amendments, they will vote on final passage of the legislation.
Meanwhile, the House will convene at 10:00 a.m. for morning hour and noon for legislative business.
House lawmakers are expected to take up the Protecting Cyber Networks Act, which gives legal liability protections for companies when sharing cyberattacker information with civilian agencies.
First votes in the House are expected between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., with last votes between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
