Senate runs out of workdays before election recess
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) hasn’t formally announced a schedule, but the House has decided to adjourn at the end of this week so that members can campaign for the Nov. 6 election.
{mosads}The Senate is planning to try and pass a veterans’ jobs bill, S. 3457, and the six-month spending resolution, H.J.Res. 117, before members leave.
The Veterans Jobs Corp Act would create new job-training programs to help veterans find work in targeted fields such as national park conservation, historic preservation projects, police work and firefighting, among others.
The continued spending resolution funds the government for another six months.
