Brown to introduce bill making child, earned income tax credits permanent

{mosads}Brown said the Working Families Tax Relief Act, which is also sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), would make permanent the 2009 level of child tax credit and earned income tax credit that were part of the Economic Recovery Act.

He said those tax deductions have helped pull families out of poverty and should be extended.

“Making these credits permanent at current levels is critical to lifting people out of poverty,” Brown said.

Brown said he hopes GOP colleagues will work with Democrats to ensure that his bill is part of comprehensive tax reform that the Senate Finance Committee is working on.
