Senate passes a bill criminalizing lies about earning military metals

{mosads}H.R. 258 would amend the federal criminal code related to fraudulent claims about military service and make such an offense subject to a fine, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both if an individual lies about receiving military metals with intent to obtain money, property or other benefit.

The Senate approved the bill through a unamious consent agreement. 

The bill now heads to President Obama’s desk for his signature.
