Senate votes to confirm federal circuit judge

{mosads}Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said ahead of the vote that he supported Chen’s nominations. He then pointed out that Republicans have blocked only two out of 200 of President Obama’s lower court judicial nominees.

“The Senate is processing the president’s nominees exceptionally fairly and that’s the best way to get the job done,” Grassley said.

Judicial Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) said the Senate “should act quickly to address judicial vacancies” and that if there were no Republican obstruction of nominees then the Senate would be considering all 12 judicial nominees on the calendar today.
